  • London and Paris spotters, Finnair MD11 heading your way

    Hi

Tomorrow, because of Finnair FA's striking, there will be a change in schedules and equipment used on flights. So, they will fly a HEL-LHR-CDG-HEL legs with an MD11.

    AY4831, HEL-LHR, ETD 0800
    LHR-CDG, ETD 1010
    CDG-HEL, ETD 1330
    (all times local)

I don't usually post about these but thought that MD11 might be of intrest to someone as it is not too common anymore...

    That's a rare one.

How does this work though. If there's a strike at AY, that means they pulled these MD11's out from one of their longhaul flights, and that makes you wonder where's the A320's and the A321's then ?

There will be no longhaul flights during the strike, much of the domestic and european services are canceled too.

btw. it will be OH-LGG which flies these 4 legs tomorrow.

Oh geez. That sure will affect many of its passengers and the airline will "probably" lose millions of Markkaa's per day, just like SK's strike many months ago when they grounded outbound-Oslo planes for three days. That crippled SK abit, anyway hopes that AY will resume its flights again.

Finnair said that they will lose 2,5 million €uros per day during this strike. Ouch indeed.
