I'd just like to say - not all Kiwis are as bad as this guy! Shows that every country, not just the US () has a minority who are total... (use imagination). What an embarressment - 'just cause i caught a break and happened to get a ride on some planes, i am infinitely superior to you'.

      Darryl,

I was in the right forum but just going a little

Neville also sent me a copy of the email.

There is more to this than meets the eye-I have an email from a screener to Neville and a pasting of some comments Neville made about Serge, this situation seems to have been simmering for a while and unless I have all the relevent information in front of me I don't think I should be speculating about who is right or wrong.

As I said before, I think the rejection was justified.

He was the same over at the other site until he threw his toys out of the pram for the first time. He had some nice stuff but couldn't take rejection, which he saw as criticism of his work. But no individual photographer is bigger than any of the photo sites, no matter what his photos are like. He won't be happy until he's only uploading to www.nevillesphotos.com

          Matt,

Please see my post of 19 Jul 2003 14:36 earlier in this thread.

I imagine Neville forgot to forward you the mail where he said "f*ck you".
Once I read that I sent him the mail he forwarded to you, and seems to be sending to everyone on the net...................one would have thought he would have better things to do with his time, but there you go.

I don't regret a word of it and stand 110% behind what I said.

Sorry, but when someone tells you to f*ck yourself they lose all right to be treated in any other way than with contempt.

There is no question of who is right and wrong, it's pretty black and white.

I'm not sure what Neville thinks mass circulation of this email will achieve, it only serves to re-inforce my opinion of him. It's also interesting to note he forgets to tell everyone that this was precipitated by his telling us to f*ck ourselves, which was my only motivation for telling him what I thought of him, so it's quite a major thing to leave out.

I'll send you his mail if you wish, so you can get an idea of what started this off.

I'll let Neville's own words he spat at Serge to allow people to make up their own minds as to what kind of person we are dealing with.

Wow...... and I thought I was a primadonna!

After the "Serge" engagement, a lot of red flags went up concerning this guy. I have been taking pics (non-aviation) for a living for a very looong time and frankly guys like Neville are a dime a dozen, regardless of nationality. While his pics were certainly show stoppers and will be missed, his attitude was not and will not be missed.

I find it unfortunate that Air2Air has left. I wouldent think a photographer of that caliber would have such a juvenile attitude. That is unfortunate. I will miss looking at all of his pictures which were no doubt incredible. I dissagree with most screeners opinion about the photograph in question, but honestly...if air2air is going to have an attitude at about the 6th grade level (no offense to any of you 6th graders out there) then maybe I'm happy he showed himself the door. Good luck in the future air2air, and in my opinion you're welcome back here whenever you decide to lose the attitude. You know...I'd be willing to bet he's still reading this thread to see what people have to say

You know, it's often people that that calibre that that do have that attitude, unfortunately.

I think this is a bit of a cliche. In my experience, having met in person or electronically a number of the better photographers at this site and others, that on the whole they are a pretty unassuming bunch ... yes, they are proud of their work, but also quick to accept their errors and give credit to others, good fortune etc. for their successes.

I've always been very suspicious of the "artistic temperment" ... too often used as an excuse for unacceptable behaviour. I wonder if the reason Neville runs his own magazine is that he finds it difficult to find others who will work with him.

As to the photograph in question. Nice idea, poorly executed. Which, to be perfectly frank I found to be the case with a number of his shots. This particular shot would have been a killer had it been sharp. It wasn't, should have gone to the bin and attempted again. The fact that Neville can neither see that, nor accept it when pointed out to him, makes him in my mind a poor craftsman whatever his "artistic vision".

                  Cheers,

                  Colin

I'd like to see the original slide before i agree with such a statement. A number of his shots were poorly scanned and so could be the case with this image too.

Too bad about the attitude bit =/.

Wow.. Had no idea Neville of all people would "leave" jetphotos- seemed like he enjoyed all the ass kissings.

Just like in real life guys, if someones an asshole just ignore them. I didn't even want to bother replying again to that last thread- some people you just can't even argue with, must be some sort of inbred gene they have that prevents them from being logical.

As for that pic of the rotor- damn, I can take a better shot with my consumer glass Pentax 100-300mm standing outside the airport fence (..if anyone remembers the last discussion)

(edit.. I meant I didn't even want to bother replying again to that last thread not I didn't want to bother replying to this thread--- I didn't even know this thread existed until I randomly clicked on this boring sunday morning)

                          Hey Serge....

                          I'll meet you at fence....

With the money I have made from photography in the last few months I wonder what damage I could do from INSIDE the fence....

Oh well I happen to like the fence.

No fair Mark.. first a D100 then actually making money off it

Maybe I should actually try submitting a few shots to a magazine- doubt they'll come to me for a while- except for maybe Airliner World asking for freebies. :P lol
