  • Software Must Have : Photorescue

Well yesterday I covered the girls' state championship soccer game. When I get to the press box my card is corrupt and won't read on anything. It was 480 images of the game and celebration. I didn't quite freak out, because knew of the software but was still worried it would not work. Afterall if I didn't have those images I would be losing close to $1000.

So I download the demo to see if it even retrieves the files. So the demo not only recovers the 480 soccer shots, but recovered files from the Dayton Air Show in July, and a track meet from May. That's pretty impressive if you ask me, especially considering I format everyday.

I just thought I'd post my experience with this great great software. I can't say enough about it. The best part is it's only $29.

    Check it out.

Thanks for the hint. Good to know and good to have when everything fails.

Yeah, nothing gets deleted from your card unless it's physically overwritten, same goes for harddrives and any other media. Unless something physically writes over a file, that file is recoverable. Lexar has a similar thing that comes with their cards called image rescue.

I lost quite a lot of pics when I was writing them onto a CD and there was a powercut. The UPS didn't work and since the files were temporary, I lost them.

        Any ideas?

I had a Lexar card recently go corrupt and even sent it to them to see if they could retrieve the images, no luck....

I got a new card, but lost the images of my base visit
