I would be very careful and cautious when buying camera equipment/cameras off of eBay, as the seller isn't always reputable. Alot of times the seller doesn't even have the items, or take your money and run. I've been a victim once of this, and have heard that this has happened to others.

The best thing to do when looking for cameras/camera equipment on eBay is check whether the seller sells or has sold camera equipment in the past. Just because the person has generally good feedback doesn't mean there can be problems. As I say, do a little research on the sellers and you should be OK.

There are alot of eBay camera equipment sellers that run as company's. I typically buy from them when in need of equipment/camera's. They're very reliable.

I would trust a reputable dealer, not some 30 year old who lives in his parents basement. Some friends of mine have purchased cameras off eBay and the cameras didn't work when my friends received them. The seller didn't offer/give a refund but merely stopped responding to e-mails and the like.

I'll usually go with the power sellers and of course, definatly check the feedback. Sometimes the feedbacks isnt reliable becuase they could just give themselves positive feedbacks.

If you think it's good to go, then go for it. I've never had any problems while shopping on eBay. You can get some great stuff for a bargain.

I purchased a 2x Telephoto from a seemingly reputable company on ebay. Got the package, opened it up, it was a .45x wide angle lens (w/ macro) It fit my camera, and after the initial fury passed, I decided to keep it. It does exactly the opposite of what the one I ordered does, but it got me a GREAT L-1011 shot with limited space, so hats off to them

I would only recommend buying from a power seller who has feedback of at least 97% positve feedback.

                Hope this helps,
                Ryan

As always: if it sounds to good to be true it usually is.
