  • 2X Extenders

I'm looking for a 2X Extender for my 350D. Can anyone tell me about this one?

I couldn't find any reviews on it anywhere, was wondering if any of you could tell me about the quality on this one, or perhaps reccomend others around less than $100?

    Thanks!

Hmm I doubt that is for a 350D. First off what lens do you have?

I think 2x extenders aren't worth it unless you NEED it. You usually only get Manual Focus as well as upped f/stops and lower quality photos.

Sammy, for it to be of any use, you will firstly need to aquire a f2.8 lens.

75-300 is more than adequate for shooting aviation. if you are going to spend the $200 odd dollars on getting a 2x extender, save the extra 700 or what ever and get the 100-400 L.

          good luck.

I'm not shooting exclusively aviation. My requirements for image quality are not as high as yours. I need an extender for my purposes.

if thats the case, for $40, i would get it.

But why would you want 600mm?

You would need to use a tripod with that. or have IS.

No, no, no, and no. I strongly advise you to not get that. If the Canon version is soft, this will be even more. This might sound crazy, but why do you need that. I shoot everything for my job and get away with a 70-200.

A friend of mine (peter pabel, who's also on jp.net) sometimes uses his 70-200 2.8 IS with the 2x

Even if you can "live" with the quality of a 98-400 5.6 (70...+ 2x..), the AF/IQ on a 350D won't make you really happy

Has anybody tried the 2x Extender on the 135f2L?

I'm probably the one of the exotic aviation photographers using this lens for this kind of photography....

The 135 f2 is one hell of a lens so there's no need to be ashamed of that, one of the best lenses ever made. I have used a 1.4 with it and it's awesome.
