I am hoping some of you could give me some advice about the optimal settings for the olympus C-730.
I think it's a nice camera that produces some good shots, but I am wondering if it can get even better.
P (program mode), ISO AUTO (it will then choose 64 ), and adjust exposure with the up and down buttons. In direct sunlight, -0.7 is usually fine, and under clouds it varies between -0.3 and 0.
For nighttime:

The camera has a very good night mode, the moon and stars symbol. I found it hard to focus when trying night shots in P mode, as it selected a very low aperture (3.5) for the subjects I were shooting that were far away. Also, you can turn on the camera's NOISE REDUCTIOn feature, through the menus, and it will eliminate noise during long exposures.
General notes:
After shooting in SHQ 2048x1536 for a long time, I realized there is almost no noticable difference between SHQ and HQ at the same resolution. The biggest difference, is that on a 128MB card, you can hold ~60 photos in SHQ, but around 200 in HQ! So HQ it is now then, unless I have the space to shoot in SHQ.
Got the C-730 myself so thanks for the tips Clovis! Especially the one about shooting in HQ instead of SHQ. I am too poor to get a 128MB card or even a 32MB one so all I have now is the 16MB included with the camera
