  • New US Air Cardinal scheme on a 319!!

Just wanted to let you guys know that the rumor is true. US Air has painted a A319 into a Cardinals scheme and she entered revenue service this morning.

Steve at www.visitingphx.com emailed me with photos and I have his permission to share with you the first picture taken at PHX this morning.

First guess is that she is headed to SEA and back again to PHX with a leg to DEN after that.

Flight: HP 79 (America West Airlines)
Depart: Phoenix Sky Harbor Intl Apt. 13 Dec 08:21
    Arrive: Seattle/Tacoma International Apt 13 Dec 10:27
    Aircraft: 319 Stops: Non-Stop
    Travel Time: 3hrs 6mins

Looks like it returns around 3pm to PHX:

Flight: HP 490 (America West Airlines)
    Depart: Seattle/Tacoma International Apt 13 Dec 11:15
Arrive: Phoenix Sky Harbor Intl Apt. 13 Dec 14:57
    Aircraft: 319 Stops: Non-Stop
    Travel Time: 2hrs 42mins

Flight 490 continues on to DEN:

Flight: HP 490 (America West Airlines)
Depart: Phoenix Sky Harbor Intl Apt. 13 Dec 15:45
Arrive: Denver Intl Apt 13 Dec 17:25
    Aircraft: 319 Stops: Non-Stop
    Travel Time: 1hr 40mins

You guys know that I will be out this weekend loking for this aircraft. Hopefully she will remain a west coast plane. You guys back east have your four and we are adding ours now!! *grin*

Thanks to Steve and happy hunting!!

I am glad they are doing their special schemes again, but i preffered the old cardnals 757. I dont know why but this one just looks odd to me not near as cool as the Eagels A319. I wish i could get catches like that more often. All i have gotten is the new colors Asiana 777.

I like the 757 better also. But then again this is better than nothing at all.

My thoughts exactly. The 757 was a real beauty, whereas this Airbus is rather bland compared to it.

Very nice, the 752 was a beauty but the miniBus puts her shorter fuselage to advantage. And another reason to travel back to the US coming up.
Let's bet more MiniBuses will act as special livery billboards.
I figure the next to come will be
              - Arizona # 3
              - Phoenix Suns # 2
              - Nevada Battle Born # 2
              - TeamWork/Coast-to-Coast # 3
The one that may not come up : Ohio
A one to replace Ohio : something related to Pennsylvannia

Can't say it isnt beautiful. I adore the Cardinal bird logo on the tail. Also agree with people here, Way better on a 757.

I agree...at least the Cardinals livery is still flying.
