Looks MAN has something in common with EBBR (also a farmer, more precisely a corn grower) and PMI (quite a few private property stretching around the airport perimeter and limits of which are the airport fences ..)

He can't stop us going onto the footpath as it's a public right of way. He just gets very annoyed with many cars parking outside his property and apparently blocking his gates and entrance....which is total crap as all the local spotters tend to respect this and keep away.
It's the non spotter families who bring out their chav-lets for an afternoon walk that park in front of his property.

Just park a minute walk away down the road and no-one can complain about anything!

As regards the Moss Lane site, just before you get to the sharp left hand turn look to your right and you will see a sort of layby/grass verge outside a house. Park there and you are right next to the turnstile which takes you over the field and to the mound.

Great spot until 3pm as you are right under approach and they line up for departure right in front of you.

42C with a wind somewhat reminisent of standing inside an oven caused by huge bush fires outside the city of Melbourne. With no decent beach nearby, fun it aint mate

ANyway, I got a lift in today and went up to the top of the carpark. . . .what on earth are they doing up there?????????
I know I've not been up for a few months, but where did all that fencing come from?

Hi Jid - I believe that the runway designation will change to 23/05 (not 25), and it will be happening on the 7th June, '07.

              Cheers.

Re-surfacing I believe. Dunno if it'll re-open as a spotting terrece seeing as the shop has moved down to arrivals

Just too far round the corner to get it from level 11 on the carpark

Thanks for that Paul, yes I was pushing the runway round the wrong way there!
For those who did not know and are interested the current MAN runway headings are 06 = 055 degrees - 24 235 degrees. It will take some getting used to!
