Well, i looked at this lense and chose the tamron 24-135, which by concensus is sharper plus it has the extra 4mm on the wide end. Im now looking at selling due to the 38-216 isnt that convenient and am looking to replace with the 17-40 due to me missing the wide angle. The 70-200 gets more use from me even in portrait shots at family gatherings, the 24mm isnt wide enough for me on a 1.6x crop body so i generally focus on close ups.

Seems fair enough. 2 f stops hmmp I get what I pay for. I'm not expecting high quality shots, just like I said, a walk around lens. If only I could get in the same range to afford an L glass. Pah. I'll try again two months from now. LOL
@ Simpleboy. I'll take your advice, and work myself to learn about the lens.

Since James are saying this is an oldie,
Does it mean anything if it has a 2nd generation IS on it.?
Some people at Fredmiranda pretty much put this lens down. What I payed for it, is decent and are in my range as of now. Although I shoould not expect much of it, I really hope this lens is a good addition for the 70-200mm f2.8 IS, if ever I need to go lower than 70mm.

That's a tough one Sam...there's the 28-105 f something mark 2, but it's about £180 on WHSEXP.
Did you not get an 18-55 kit lens?
If you didn't, i'd get one of those. You can pick one up for less than £100 and then you'd only have a gap between 55 and 75 which you won't miss.

Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
Does any of your guys have any experience about this product.
Code that displays a thumbnail that links to your full-sized image:
As you can read on the title, It has IS on it.
I have actually ordered this item, and will prolly recieve it tomorrow or 2 days from now. What made me order this is because the 18-55mm is just too weak for me, and I really want to get rid of it. plus I'd like a better "walk around" lens, None of my friends had own a copy of it, so I decided to go here and ask your opinions. What can I expect about this lens? I'm actually all excited to get a copy of it.
Please share your opinion if you have used this one.
