  • Most Difficult Airport for Photographers, Access Wise

Mine, Orlando International has got to be in the top 5.

The only place that I've found that's decent is the exterior staircase on one of the buildings on the west side of the field, which gives a decent view of aircraft approaching 18L/R. About as good, in the morning, the regular parking garage facing west gives a good view of the American Airlines ramp.

The Hyatt garage is hit or miss, depending on the time of day and severity of heat haze. Usually I avoid it because I just don't get good results from there.

I used to be able to go on Jetport Drive, which ran directly next to the perimeter fence, directly beneath the approach path of the new 17L. But they have since closed that road.

I need to move to a new city.

SDF. A lot of the good spots are already gone, the only decent hassle free spot is away from all the heavy traffic, and security is pretty inconsistent. I think it's just a matter of whether or not the airport cops feel like stopping you on that particular day.

I should have said before, I'm not necessarly talking about being harassed. I've only been approached by security a couple of times at MCO. I was mainly speaking of scarctiy of good spots to shoot from at MCO.

However, speaking of being approached by security. One of the few times I was approached was when I was shooting from the Red Parking lot (which I didn't mention before because I've stopped shooting from there because I have to stand on top my car to see over the fence).
He pulled his truck up next to me when he saw me standing on my car with the camera, but ended up being very nice and courteous, and even admitted that he wasn't sure that I was breaking any rules.
