  • INNSBRUCK 12th/13th MARCH

    Hey!

First trip to Europe for this geezer and first stop is the magnificent Innsbruck area.

If any of you regular spotters/photographers sight a wandering tourist around the airport with NIKON kit stop and say hello. Always wearing one of my collection of airline ball caps.

Hope the weather holds and the mountains are sprinkled with fresh snow.

    Later!

    BIGDEN

    Hey Denis,

Would love to join but due to my service within the Army
I wont have any time during the week.

Unfortunately you picked bad dates for your visit to INN as traffic is only
relatively busy on Saturdays and Sundays when British and Scandinavian Charters invade the little airfield. Also there is not a lot of snow around currently, except on higher altitudes - you might get the snowy mountains in the frame during take-offs anyway.
The weather should be excellent during the next days.

If you need tips, traffic info and spotting help just tell me and I'll try to give answers!

...oh and dont forget to try Austrian beer

      Hey Philip!

Thanks for the offer, will try that beer for sure! We have been checking out the shots online and I'm usually lucky with different stuff. Hope to use the 10.5 for something dramatic and am packing a tripod for some night work if available. We're at the GOLDENE KRONE. I'm taking my 21 yr. old son on his spring break from University.

Again..THANKS, will be online if we need some help while there.

Okay, check out this site for a little information on traffic and spots:

Night shots are best from the visitors terrace, free of charge, enter it from inside the terminal building. For the famous 'mountain in the back' shots I'd recommend spot 7 on the map which can be found on the above site.

Enjoy your time in Europe, what other places are on your list?
        greetings,
        Philip

          Hey Philip!

          Thanks again. good tips.

I have promised Martin I would put the cameras away after INN and Paris and London are for sightseeing. Might cheat a little...looking forward to a big St. Patrick's day parade in London and the war museum.

Possibly we will do the 1 day trip by train to Salzburg depending on energy levels.
