  • Neutral Density Filters

I was wondering if Neutral Density Filters are good for aviation photography. Would it help out with back lighting. In the Ritz description, it says "this Gradual Neutral Grey reduces the total amount of light reaching the film, but without affecting the color balance. It restores the balance between the main subject and the foreground/background."

If I do buy one which should I go with:

Quantaray by Cokin P121M Gradual Grey G2 ND4 Pro Series Filter

    or

Quantaray by Cokin P120 Gradual Grey G1 Pro Series Filter

    any help would be great.

Buying something from Quantaray is like me selling you my piss and saying it's orange juice.

My rule when buying things is, if you don't know what they do and have to ask a question about what it does, is not to buy it.

No, it would make the entire exposure darker and you'd have to compensate by wider aperture or slower shutter.
