  • 4,000 in queue

I just uploaded a few shots and this was the message:

This photo is number 4021 in the screening queue.

Wow, this site is really growing fast, I don't ever recall the queue that high. Coupled with the increased views all photos seem to get lately, this site was be turning into quite the cash cow!

Sounds like a couple of screeners need to get together for an all-nighter

Well, considering the screeners are all volunteers...

Honestly the daily average of screened pics is very high at the moment.

This site will probably hit the Million mark by year's end?

Our daily average of uploads and pics screened is still higher than big blue, so it can't be all bad right?

I don't want to say I've given up on loading to "big blue" but I'm almost there. By no means am I the best shutterbug out there, but I have loaded a few real stunners to that site and been shot down for stuff I can't even see. Then when I look at some shots on there... I wonder what happens? LOL. I'll stick primarily with JP.

TBH, the queue is getting a bit too high for my personal taste. But you can't force the screeners to spend hours and hours looking into a PC monitor, considering it is a volunteer job. Some may have others things to do right now. But we will for sure get it lower again

Well, after a month and a half with warm and sunny weather, much of western europe is now again covered in rain. So perhaps less uploads and more screenings?

well the problem is now that our dear European uploaders have a lot of time to edit their april pics ...

And yes we'll do our best to lower it as much as possible... But really a lot of time screening is spent those last days !
                            Cheers
