    Tried real night photography for the first time tonight with Paulsen. I have a feeling I'll be doing this often now... good fun...

          This is my first attempt at moving night photography. I got the moving light effect like I wanted but there is too much grain.

            Nah no tripod. Infact, I don't even own a tripod :P I used the ledge at the top of the parking garage and a folded peice of paper to angle the camera right. My AF wouldn't focus on the BA actually, so I focused on the lit-up tail of a Fiji 744 on the gate abeam the BA, locked it, and snapped the BA shot. I over-exposed when focusing on the Fiji so that the BA wouldnt be too dark. Turned out nice I guess. That was my first try out of 5 and the other four are out of focus Lookout for a China Airlines 744 from there aswell

              I tried this a handful of times. Got some pretty good results at the Embry - Riddle ramp.
              [photoid=27028]
              [photoid=27024]
              Also did one of a MD-80 departing DAB.
              [photoid=35200]
              And a BBJ leaving Bangor, Maine.
              [photoid=122461]
              And finally I took this last night outside my front door.
              This is a 16 sec exposure of my street and some lightning is visible in the back.
              That lightning was actually hitting the Bahamas at the time.
              Try to catch me flyin dirty...

                Yeah thats cool Mike. I'm not a big fan of streak shots though. Unless they have a good backround they seem pretty boring to me.

                  Yeah me too. Dying to go back up to Daytona. I discovered an awesome place just before I left, right next to the approach lights so I might get some really good ones there.
