well we shut the blacks up last weekend so it'll be interesting, I said to someone when we played in Cape Town 2 weeks ago that it would be close because its at sealevel...where as Johannesburg would've been a much worse outcome. Olypmic stadium should be good to us.

I like France for the WC...always enjoyed watching french rugby...but the mighty Tour De France starts in 2 days and I'll be glued in for that....rumour has it that Jason & I might be back in SA sometime next year.

      next trips

Also if you are using 1 shot focus mode a moving object will move out of focus if you depress the button half way then shoot. If using one shot focus then go for the shot dont go for the focus first. Or use one of the other focus settings although these do chew up batteries depending on the lense.

Some of us simply shoot later or earlier the day, avoiding the high sun at noon. Even in winter, here in ZRH I can have a nasty heat haze during noon at times.

            Just a tip ...

I also have the same Sigma lens but for Nikon. There is an interesting review/test of this lens here: http://www.photozone.de/8Reviews/len..._456/index.htm

The lens seems to be weaker around 200-300 mm when it comes to sharpness, you could try stopping down to f11 to see if you get sharper images when you shoot in this range.

Wow, interesting read on the lens - as a general question, what would one go for (as opposed to the Sigma lens I have) as a "long lens" for my 350d IE:

                Money is no object
                Preparred to "spend a bit"
Budget - I guess the Sigma I have is OK for this category.
