  • Gatwick Spotting

Hi People, will be spotting at Gatwick on the 20th.

Any ideas on a good spotting location? Must be accessible by public transport!

    Cheers,

    Mark

If they're landing on 26L then the threshold on the perimeter road is less than 500 yards from the South Terminal. I seem to recall that if you go to the Virgin check-in in the terminal there is a door to the right that leads down to the perimeter road. Step onto the road, turn right and 500 yards later.....bingo !

    This link may help....

I believe you guys are spotting at Heathrow as well so this may help .....

Well, from LGW and if they are on 26L your best bet is outside a staff car-park next near the VS building. Easily accesable from inside the terminal buy taking Exit B I think, walk down the stairs and along the road. Not too complex. If they are using 08R, lowfield heath road. It is on the west side of the airport and is quite a walk, there is a pub about 10 minutes from the spot as well. From this a fence with 2 larg-ish gaps on either side of the fence, (87mm filter size will fit).

Hope you have fun, but LGW is not the most spotter friendly airports.
