    Hey Anas

It seems more than enough to get onto jp, although I’m not a screener.

However I would suggest that if you are buying on a limited budget you consider some entry-level DSLR's as you will find them a lot more flexible, robust, and all round better cameras. The fact that DSLR owners maintain the ability to exchange lenses depending on the situation they are photographing, or even for the effect they want.

Saying that I see f/4.5 @ 465, which is good, although I’m not quite sure how fixed lenses work.

If you could give us an idea of the price range you are looking at maybe we can be of more help.

    Cheers
    Neil.

Then I would rather get a Nikon D40 with the AF-S 55-200 or a Canon 350D or any used DSLR with a decent lense. You can get pics accepted with the Sony for sure, but under not perfect curcumstances and not knowing how to get the most out of it, it will be much harder then with any DSLR out there. (I use a CP5700 during holidays some times and yes it is very hard to get accpetable pics with it)

PLease, please, please remember it's what you do with the camera and how you use it that contributes hugely to whether you get acceptable shots or not, not just how well spec'd up it is or how many megapix it's got.

On paper spec that camera looks fine, but what i'd be concerned with is whether or not is has minimal shutter lag, which in the days when i used a p&s caused me to miss endless shots (the time between you pressing the shutter button and the camera actually taking the shot). Also the image quality simply couldn't match a dslr due to the cheaper sensors used. I'd also be concerned that the autofocus wont be able to keep up with fast moving jets either.

Looking at the prices you can get it for, saving/spending just that little bit more can get you a budget dslr that will be more flexible and will last longer.

I picked up a refurbished Canon 400d with an 18-55 lens the other day for £320 (to act as a travel body/2nd body) which is not much more than that Sony camera new.

            Thanks guys for the comments!

I just guess I will have to wait to earn enough money to get a good one ( Nikon D70 with a good lens (70-300) so I will keep an eye on this topic.

If you do end up getting a Sony, try to get your hands on a DSC-H5 if you can find one. From the reviews and sample pictures I've seen, the H9 is not that good (blurry corners, slower lens than the H5, shorter battery life, awful purple fringing problem etc...). On the other hand, I myself own an H5 and I am satisfied with its performance. The only thing that I can't comment on is taking pictures of airplanes, as I have yet to try that.
