Hey Yah'll! I'm in the market for a digital camera with at least 4 megapixels, 4x optical zoom or greater, but yet affordable (up to $800 CDN). I was originally going to buy the Nikon Coolpix 4300, but then some photographers mentioned the fact that the 3x optical zoom wasn't going to get me anywhere of which it was quite true. I would greatly appreciate it if someone mentions some digital cameras within my budget with some of the great features i'm expecting. Thanks!

Fallingeese makes a good point about the C-730. It's got less than 4MP but unless you are planning to do a lot of cropping with your photos, 3.2MP is good enough. All my photos here are taken with this camera.
On the other hand...if you feel like splurging, get the C-750.Click Here for my aviation photographs.

The Fuji 3800 is a pretty good camera. The only reason why I recommend the C-730 over the 3800 is the 10X optical zoom. Although the C-730 is more expensive, you would only have to spend a little more over the 3800 (around $20-$40).Click Here for my aviation photographs.

Looks like i'm gonna probably get either the Olympus C-750UZ or the C-740UZ. The Olympus C-750 seems to be my priority since its not as expensive as the other high-end cameras with similar features. The Olympus C-750UZ costs $799 CDN here which is not that bad. I'm gonna probably do more research. Well, thats about it, but i still wanna hear your thoughts and opinions.I'm really brown not black, dunt get fooled!

In addition to my D100, I own a C-700 and a fuji 2800. Between the two little guys, the C-700 takes better pictures and has more zoom. The fuji is good for around the house stuff. I keep the C-700 in the car glove box for times when I don't have the D100 with me.
Go buy one of the C-7xx cameras and try it out. If you don't like it, just return it.

Cool_Flyer,
All my photos here are taken with a C-730UZ and I am having good results with it. Of course, being new to aviation photography, my pictures don't do justice to this camera. Take a look at the pictures by Clovis Bouhier, who also uses the C-730UZ and you will see what you can do when you use the C-730 to it's full potential
(edit: for some reason I can't link to his pictures so you got to go the main page and look under "photographers")
I would say get this camera if you are considering the C-740UZ because they are basically the same and the differences aren't worth the extra money. However, I would still recommend the C-750UZ if you have the budget for it! Hope this helps.

Jeff, all C-730 here:

I would highly recommend the C-750. Go the extra mile if you can't afford a DSLR, those 4MP will come out very handy. It also has some little things fixed over the 730, like double SLR-like carry straps (one on each side) to go around your neck, and I'm sure they've updated the AF and re-done the CCD.

Clovis,
Howmuch optical zoom does the C730 have?
Tanuj."The Director also sets the record straight on what would happen if oxygen masks were to drop from the ceiling: The passengers freak out with abandon, instead of continuing to chat amiably, as though lunch were being served, like they do on those in-flight safety videos."
