Well for quickness and the use of some thing basic I used Irfanview to play with the colour. Whilst this is free software I use a lot at work but wouldn't recommend it for use on pics for upload. If you can stretch to Elements, Yes definatley or you may want to have a bash with Gimp, it is free and a very powerful bit of kit. But and that's a large BUT it is a huuuuuge learning curve to get the hang of. It wouldn't hurt to download Gimp and give it a try, at least it won't cost you anything.

I don't think Chris's software goes to that extent Brian, I was trying to keep it basic.
        Oh, sorry, didn't know that.

Edit...but if I'd read his posts fully I WOULD have known that !! Apologies for my error.

Chris, I see what you mean. I didn't realise you were running a Mac. I'm not O'fay with Mac at all, I have dabbled with Linux so I know you need to download the binary file but that's about as far as I can go. I did find - http://www.macgimp.org/ it seems to be a little more dedicated to Mac. Have a read, other than that I'm out of suggestions sorry.

Brian, you haven't been on the sauce already, have you ?

Thank you, 2 weeks in Dominican Republic on Monday...can't wait.

Even more seriously...and back on the subject. Aren't there some versions of Photoshop available free on magazine cover discs that Chris could use ?

you can download a trial version on the Adobe website. i think you can only download it once so i guess i would eventually have to buy PS. anyone know where i can a LEGAL version for the cheapest.

Unlike me who has to be different and use Nkion Capture NX (till my pc threw a wobbly and doesnt like it). IIm getting a new pc soon anyway so i may wait untill then to start edditing again.

Well I recently returned from my trip to DCA and just got around to downloading my photos from my camera. I have a few I need an opinion on and several I know will have a good chance of making it.

Here are the couple I need an opinion on:

                          1. Personal collection

2.Looks ok, but difficult to say for sure at that size.

                          3. Ok, would have liked a bit more in the frame, passable though

                          4. The leaning tower of where ? DCA
