  • Spruce Goose Flight Deck

    I recently visited the Evergreen Aviation Museum, home of the Hughes KK-1 (Spruce Goose). I paid the extra money to get a tour of the flight deck and here are some of the photos. This is not my best effort at photography, I hope you enjoy these anyway.


    Pilots Seat and instrument panel

    Radio Operators Station.



    Flight Engineers Station. Sorry for it being out of focus.


    Here are the wire bundles behind the flight engineers station.


    Inside the right wing of the Hughes "Spruce Goose". The green tank on the left is a 300 gallon feeder fuel tank (the rest of the fuel tanks are in the belly of the airplane). You can clearly see some of the wing ribs and the engine mount structure for engines 5 and 6. Along the right is part of the spar with the hydraulic, oil, fuel lines and electrical wires attached.
    This picture was taken from the aft section of the flight deck just in front of the main spar.
