  • Double spotting.

    Have you ever taken a picture and uploaded it and then discovered another photog took it the same place and day as you and you didn't see them?

    This has happened to me once on 6/1/03 when me and Scott Hoggard both got the same plane at BWI.

    From the angle his photo was taken at he must have been standing next to me but I didn't notice.

    Strange.

    If you look carefully you can see that you both shot at almost the exact same moment. The plane is even under the same cloud. But if you notice in Scott's photo it appears to be farther below the cloud. That tells me that he was farther away by quite a bit and shooting at a more horizontal angle with a much longer lens than you were using. Depending on his lens he may have been as far as a half mile or more behind you, which explains why you never saw him. You should drop him a note to ask about where he was shooting from and what type of camera equipment he uses.
