  • One quick question about this pic.....

This pic, while it has nothing blocking the aircraft, has half a lamppost in it. My question is, if I submit the picture as it is, do you think it will get accepted, or do I have to crop it such that the lamppost is removed?

    Thanks,
    Tanuj

You would have to crop the pole out but I have a feeling the pic would still be rejected due to the aircraft being to far away.
Try to catch me flyin dirty...

Is that a 28mm lens? You've got 320 Tanuj, I suggest you use it.

What camera/lens combination are you using? That shot does look like it was shot with a 28mm. Bring the plane in close with the lens, and you would not even have the pole in the frame.

That is full zoom. I'm using an olympus C720. I shot this picture too late. All my other landing pics I shot before the pole came into view.

After this picture, I started shooting with both my eyes open, that way I can see how far the plane is before the pole comes into view.

For example, even the below picture is shot with full zoom, but is shot before the pole came into view.

You will most probably get the "Subject too far away" rejection. Try another fotoposition or try taking pics, when aircraft are closer.

                  Cheers

I agree, still too far and way to blurry and grainy.

Gerardo summed up the whole situation.

Another spot will fix this, hopefully closer to the action this time.

                        Tanuj,

Just another helpful tip- try finding a spot where the sun is behind you so you get some light on the aircraft.

                        Cheers,
                        James
