  • Need help for night shots

    Hello,

    With these warm summer evenings in Europe I have been stared with it make by night photos. I need help, as example these photograph
    http://www.jetphotos.net/viewreject.php?id=43673 rejected for Poor lighting (too dark).
    This photo is maked with my daughter camera (4mp - 35-115mm)the only thing that I remember me was ISO 100 and shutter time 15 sec.
    How can I the photographs better make.

      Airwim,

      The truth is that you got the aircraft exposed just about right. The problem is in the shot composition. The dark areas in the shot are just too high a percantage of the total photo area. Brightening the darkened areas would cause overexposure of the aircraft themselves. The solution is to either get closer in and photograph each plane from colse enough to fill the frame or to use a long enough lens to let you fill the frame from the spotting position you were using. A longer lens is going to require a longer exposure time though.

      I did play a little in Photoshop with your photo to see if I could improve it. Mostly the only thing that could be improved was the white balance. Here's what I came up with though it still has the problem of too much darkness...

        You didnt really improve the white balance you just changed it
        The light is most probably yellow irl =). If you were a bit closer and got one plane to fill up the whole image then i think it wouldve been fine.

          Well that mine problem that night, I went till on the private parking were sent away through safeties men.
