I had really really hoped this one would get accepted.

Here is what I could do withe the Gulf Air:
Still some JPEG compression which I could get rid of if you give me the original.

There are no originals on my computer, because I resized them in photoimpression before uploading them. However, luckily I still have them on my camera, so i'll just upload these four here on the forum.

Another tip Tanuj is always keep your originals. Once you edit the quality will go down. If you edit again of the edit the quality will go down. Its like making a copy of a copy.
        Always edit from the original.

          Tanuj,

Sorry to hear about the rejections but I notice a improvement in your latest batch of photos compared to the previous photos. For one thing, you have the aircraft much closer. Another is you are shooting the lighted side of the aircraft. Just keep on trying and you will get better at it

          Cheers,
          James

As far as I am concerned the UPS shot is killed by the fact that there is part of the tail missing, which obviously was unintentional. ie: It is not a closeup or deliberate crop.

This shot no matter how much it was fixed would be either rejected as badmotive or part of aircraft cut off/missing, so I would not bother.

Neither would I waste time with blurry shots as that cannot be fixed no matter what.

I hate it when I get home and find a shot I really like, then find darn, it's a little out of focus or has been killed by heat haze. But such is life, they have to be discarded and move on to the next one.

I think Tanuj too you would benefit from being a bit more critical of your own photos. For example the ANA 777 is very blurry to the rear of the aircraft, look at the registration it is totally unreadable. There is no way I would have uploaded a hot with obvious blur like that because I know it will have been rejected.
I think if you were a little more self critical, and focused on uploading your best work, your acceptance rate would climb much higher. I know it's difficult to do, but it is worth it and you end up with a portfolio of shots you can be really proud of.

            Regards

            Garry

Very glad that temperatures have gone down after getting fried in Frankfurt last weekend :P

These shots would have made it in a few months ago. I think that is what his dilema is all about. The bar is inching up, and some are having a hard time with it.

Nice shots T, you are getting much better.

                Tanuj,

Your shots are getting better. I'm sure soon we'll be seeing your pictures in the database.

I think it is time for you to learn more on post-shot manipulations. A raw image will not be accepted especially from small cameras like ours.( I use a Canon PowerShot G5).

I had a lot of rejections initially but now the acceptance rate is improving both here and on a.net. The improvements are mostly due to the rejections, where I read the reasons and try to improve on that. Also when shooting we must learn the limitation of our camera and location. You can't always stand next to the runway or on the apron all the time.

                Happy shooting.
