I appreciate the feedback. I keep getting the feeling that I am somehow upset cause of a rejection. I am not. I accept rejections. I rarely appeal them. Do you have a file that tracks that too? Like I said before, go and reject it, I'll be fine. I don't need to be spoken down to. Warned? Are you guys threatening me. On this particular rejection I honestly forgot to click dark. The screener rejects it and that's the way it's supposed to work isn't it? Dont threaten me. That's what I am upset about. I have 6,200 plus pictures in the database. I hope I know what I am doing. Does that not earn a little respect? I won't post anymore. Thanks.
I think what the screener was trying to say here was that he would have added the category for you normally, and not checked the "Categories" rejection. However, since there is a record of you not selecting the correct categories in the past, he chose to reject the image for Categories this time.
I don't think that the screener was trying to "speak down to you" or "threaten" you. She/he was merely stating the reason behind the rejection, which may have been misinterpreted.
Agustin, we tick categories for people that miss them sometimes and we record those occasions in a file that is visible to screeners on each of that persons uploads. We use this information to determine whether or not we should continue to be helpful or whether we need to be more firm with our screening.
This is interesting, I would love to see what my file says
I just saw a person that wrote about thanking about a screener who add a category on one of his pictures. I want to say that I got a picture rejected today because of a bad category selected/missing, I appealed it (had about a few years without doing it) stating that I didn't recall which action I did (selecting special scheme or not), which course of action should I do, and if it could be gently added to me. The appeal rejection got rejected and the comment was to add it with the proper category.
I can do it, I am not mad or whatsoever, but I think it doesn't look proper to see on public that some screeners do it one way, and others do it another way. It looks a little bit inconsistent.
Consistent would be to reject all uploads with missing or wrong categories. Is it that, what you want?
No, definitely not, I just make the humble suggestion that perhaps if there is just one missing category, it could be checked. I guess I was in a fast track that day and perhaps just missed to check it.
Problem is, that we have quite a few uploaders, who simply don't check their categories. We sometimes do, as simple goodwill, correct categories, if nothing else is wrong. But that is the exception to the rule, not the standard.

Andres, there's just NO technical way to change anything during the appeal process, so even if we wanted to, there's nothing we can do.

Items cannot be added in the appeal system, it's just not physically possible. As Gerardo said, being consistent would mean rigidly applying all the rules without exception like other sites do.
There are several considerations here. I am retired now so I've got more time on my hands. I will sometimes add categories, sometimes I don't. It all depends on how busy I am. Some screeners work quickly due to time constraints and don't have the time to check category requirements. Some screeners avoid making changes because every change that we make could have an impact on database accuracy. As an example....I never change an airline name. One space in the wrong place, one misspelt word, one lower case letter where it should be upper case and the database gets corrupted.
Be thankful if something gets added for you, accept it if it doesn't.
Hope I'm posting this in the correct place, but I'd just like to thank the screener who took the time to give me some advice about the location of the watermark on my images. I've had two rejections today for 'Watermark too Intrusive', so I know in future to be a bit more careful about where I put the watermark. Also, I hope all my YSSY photos haven't bored the screeners today.
I am going to post the text of an email here that we received from a disgruntled uploader who recently had some very poor shots rejected.
I must warn you here and now that the text he used is foul and offensive so be warned.
I have censored his words but his original had them displayed in all their offensive finery. He is now waging a personal attack on my personal email account which is no problem for me as, being personal rather than JP connected, I can say what I like in reply. How some people think that they can get away with this is beyond me .......
All of you c***s can go f**k your self's. i have waited over 2 week for you to screen them and now you tell me its bad quality. Well I bet most people aren't going to give a f**k if my photos were not level. The first thing I look at when I look at my friends pictures on Instagram is not how f****n level the photo is, but what airline and plane it. people could give a f**k at how soft a photo is, all they want to see is photos of aircraft.
Oh and one again go f**k your self's your c**k sucking c**ts
