  • About photos Dust spot...

I have some photos rejected by Durty scan/Dust spot. So how can I sold this problem? I tried to clean it in PS but it always has a lock(in layer windows), so I can't clean it. Please help me to sold this problem.
    I have got PS2
    Thank you very much

    Hi,

Dust spots are quite easy to remove, I usually take the clone stamp tool as seen on the screenshot below. The locked sign in the layer window does not have any effect on the tool so just ignore it...

    greetings,
    Philip

Why don't you correct the source of the dust by cleaning the sensor? If you don't clean the sensor the dust will get worse and worse and then any amount cloning isn't going to solve the issue. Plus I find cloning to be a pain staking annoying process. The less I have to remove dust the more time I can spend on the editing what really matters.

I find the healing brush tool is much better to use than the cloning tool. Sometimes the cloning tool can leave really obvious dots over the dustspots, and I find that I don't have that problem with the healing brush tool. It's the bandaid icon in case you didn't know.

Would you please show me how to do this?

That website really helped me out! It cleared a lot of things up, because I was a little bit confused, and somewhat of a "noob"!

            Thanks!

How much does it usually cost to get the sensor cleaned? I was priced $60 here in Daytona...

I dont have a clue but:
You could just buy sensor swabs and do it on your own, I have achieved good results with it: http://www.photosol.com

Do my 20D myself .. 40D don't seem to need cleaning yet, is this a new Canon policy not to include dust in a camera ?

Would be good as I am looking into the 40D, are you happy with her Jid? Right now I am using a 20D - worth the upgrade?

If you want an exciting life....buy Nikon !

                          I've got two D80's

The one with the 70-300 on it has a love affair with dust.
The one with the 18-135 on it has never had to be dusted off yet.

Trouble is, there's always that nagging feeling that I should take a look...just in case.
If it 'ain't broken........ Don't try to mend it !

Hi Philip, well I think it is worth upgrading to the 40D. I have been very happy with mine. None of the problems that you sometimes read about.

Not sure if I could handle the Nikon blue cast Brian with those D80's
