  • LHR spotters

Hi, Im currently a student at Embry Riddle and for the summer Im involved in the Study Abroad program for the Aeronautical Science Degree Program and will be in London July 16-22 with many other students and two professors to study aviation in Europe (2 weeks July16-29 in London/Paris and Munich). We'll be in London July 16-22 and the 20th and 21st we have free days and Im very tempted to do some spotting those days but Im not to familiar with the area, so my question to those fellow LHR spotters..would anyone like to meet up one of those days (07/21 or 07/22) and do some spotting?

Also, July 24 is a free day in Paris as well so CDG would be a lovely treat as well if anyone wants to meet up for that as well

Same applies for when were in Munich, july 28 is our free day and I'd like to spot at MUC if possible considering that I probably wont be back to europe any time soon since Riddle has me about $200,000 in debt lol:/

If anyones interested please respond or email me at my school email.... [email protected]

    Thank you.

    London Visit

For your information there a 2 very large air events happening in the south of UK whilst you are here.

The first is Royal International Air Tattoo at Fairford 12th 13th July. The biggest military airshow in the world. Next is Farnborough, the trade show, with public airshow days on the 19th and 20th.

Also on the 13th July is Flying Legends at Duxford, a big warbird show.

You are coming to the UK in the middle of some serious fixture congestion!!

I guess you would be here for Farnborough?

Unfortunately the 21st and 22nd should be back to my "other" day job, so I wont be able to meet and show the sights!

If you need more info I should be able to help.
May the Sun be with you. Resist the darkside.

I'm off shift those dates. I would certainly show you around LHR if you want. I have wheels and a camera - what more could you ask?

Get there early and try and bag a spot on the flight line. It gets very busy so you'll have to fight for the best spots.
Then just hope and prey that the weather plays ball. Last time I went, it was a fantastic morning but then as the displays started a thunder storm hit and it was bad for the rest of the day....so here's a tip...even if the weather looks sunny and bright and it's baking hot, take an umbrella!!!!

To be a little more serious....

I don't have my shifts at the moment for that time but would be happy to assist Andy with showing you around LHR. As far as I recall, Andy and I owe each other a beer...and in the UK you only have to be 18 to drink legally !!
