SBS and ACARS logs are the best way to find out the registrations of overflights. You do need to be careful about where the receiver is located in order to properly match the timestamp on your photos with the time on the log. If there's more than one that matches, I generally pick one and if someone is able to prove it's something else, then your problem is solved...

Hi guys, for all you who click photographs of aircraft overhead using those jumbo lenses. How do you know what the registration of the aircraft is?

I know some airlines are kind enough to paint it on the bottom of the wings. But what about the ones that arent so kind.
