    Okay.
I was thinking of maybe getting a 40X. It's just that once I get a body I will have that body for a long time (I don't get a re-issuable budget)

Is there any point spending an extra 200 or so dollars to get a D60 or should I get a D40X and buy a second lens with larger zoom?

Plus I feel where I go spotting (NZWN) you can get very close to the aircraft and you need to be able to manually change certain things that to wait a short while for a point and shoot to react...

Anyway, any help would be appreciated.
Note: I did not copy PMN, I am in fact obsessed with both (ask anyone who knows me and they would confirm that I talk constantly about these things

At the moment i'm using :

Canon EOS20D (not that I particularly love it, but I could affort it...)

        Sigma DC 18-200 3.5-6.3
        Sigma APO DG 170-500 5-6.3

But I'll be leaving my student status in a short while so I may go for a 100-400 and a 40D.

My equipment hasn't really changed much in the last 3 years, so I'm using:

-Canon 350D and 30D (both have been seriously hammered but they're still working)
              -Sigma 50-500 DG
              -Canon EF 70-200L f/4
              -Sigma 10-20

I was going to update the 30D with a 50D at the end of last year but I treat myself to a 27 inch iMac (which was more important to have than a new camera really) so the 50D will have to wait a little longer!

I checked out the Canon and Nikon bodies in the K20D's price range and they felt too plasticy & fragile for my taste. The K20D feels like it is built like a brick shit-house.
