  • unexplained reason of rejected picture

    Hello!

A few days ago i tried to upload a picture of OK-TVD!!

I got it rejected with the reasons:

    - Bad Composition (bad framing / aircraft not centered)
    - Dark / Underexposed
    - Too much or too little contrast

I understand that the picture is dark and has too little contrast. But i could not understand the reason of "Bad Composition"!!

    Pleas help me!!

    Greetings David

    David,

It looks like the rejection is a bit hard, probably a borderline case.
    I think it's too high

Hi ... it is a little to high in the frame , the light / contrast is way off to be honest .

A bit more playing to get brighter and more contrast along with the centralising it should be fine .

Its not really borderline just under-processed , rejection id say was justified .

      Completely salvageable though .

      Best wishes

No offense, but why even upload a photo that looks like that?

I guess you have to learn some things and I do hope David keeps on uploading these kind of pics. They are hard to take and to process. But once processed the right way, they are eyecandy, just like this one. And like Tony said and Arjen showed, this one is perfectly salvageable.

It literally took less than 2 minutes to get the photo to where it should be.

Adjust levels, add a bit of contrast and noise reduction. When it takes that little time, there's no need to upload it without doing it.

Why not ask for an opinion before uploading. Eyecandy?

Could be a case of editing on a laptop or improperly calibrated monitor.

I think it's a cool shot, thats some hefty panning.

Not everyone is perfect at editing shots. . If they were, then we would not require screeners.

Give the guy a break !

Exactly , i believe processing & shooting aircraft is not as straight forward as shooting a building or such like .

I know a very very good & established photographer who took images of a couple of aircraft and honestly .. .they were shocking very poor !

Keep on it and you’ll get there !

                  best wishes Tony

Dave, awesome shot. Make the changes suggested and upload again. Panning shots are a pain to get right but you seemed to have nailed it perfectly with this shot. Was the shot taken in the early hours of the morning by any chance?

                    Regards,

                    Dave
