Backlit or Toplit ?

Good Morning.

I recently had these 2 pictures rejected for "backlit" (note that the first time I uploaded them they were rejected for "bad info") but as both have been taken arount 12:00 the sun is as far as I know above me and the aircraft and that's why I wanted to understand better the "backlit" or "toplit" issue ... if somebody could give me an explanation.

That's a pair of " are they...aren't they backlit" marginal decisions...but I believe they were correctly rejected. The cockpit and tailfin shadows definitely show the sun to be on the other side. This is especially so with the second shot where the fin painting is the main interest.

Agree with Brian. The tail fin is totally shaded.
