  • Thank you to the screeners

I've been a bad widdle boy, and have followed in the steps of the idiotic few who take rejection to heart. I sent an abusive email to the volunteers of JP.

I have sent a well thought out apology via email to the screeners email address, however I thought I'd mention my faux pas here just for future guidance to those of us who have a lapse of reason for those few seconds where the embarrassment of a rejection gets the better of us.

I would like to say a BIG thank you for rejecting the photos ... even after I appealed two of them without realising what the appeal process was for. Although I wasn't happy with the comment received in the appeal process (the 'stop wasting our time, you're obviously not a photographer' line is a bit harsh for a first time uploader to receive, bit I disgress), at the end of the day s*** happens. I see now that what looks like gold to the photographer may not turn out to be so shiny afterall and is just a steel offcut to a screener.

After receiving the Upload ban email I have invested some time into reading through the forums. I have expressed disbelief at some of the previous abusiveness to the screeners and then realising 'crap, I buggered up big time - that wasn't a slap on the chin see you next week, that was a scrappers claw, see you as aluminium cans', whilst I have found some valuable advice especially in regards to post-processing techniques you generally wouldn't think about when posting to a Flickr account or the like.

I spent some time last night playing with the various workflow techniques available, however my test images will still need some work in the areas of selective sharpening.

Thanks fellows, no hard feelings .... keep up the good work.

Thank you. Good to read. We all been through rejections and well... It's just aviation pictures, just a hobby and sometimes it scares me a bit to see how important it gets for some people.
        Regards

        Alex
