  • Great planning tool for Us..

If you cruise over to dpreview there is a nice little article on cool tools.
One in particular called the photographers ephemeris is ultra useful.
It allows you to plot a position on google maps and then see a sun track relative to that spot.
Awesome for looking how the sun moves in relation to runways and photography points at any airport in the world.
Works a treat for working out times etc when the sun will move to the favorable side of a runway etc.
Brilliant tool for planning trips away and when spots will be ok like the fence at Klas will be good from a particular date as the sun moves south for winter.
Article also has some other cool apps that will come in handy..

I've been using The Photographer's Ephemeris for a while, really nice program. It's also great for figuring out where the sun/moon will rise or set so you can plan out where you want to be for things like sunsets, or to catch a moonrise over a landmark, or such.

Photo Ephemeris helps you plan outdoor photography in natural light. See how the light will fall on the land, day or night, for any location on earth.

It's a great tool, used it a couple of times to call off spotting trips and to know how the sun was going to be at an airshow.
