    Hi,
Lately we have noticed an increase of people writing to us in a total inappropriate way. I'll be short about it so :

JetPhotos offers you a FREE service and it would be nothing without the hard work of 40 people from the VOLUNTEER crew. These people are offering you their time but before being crew they are spotters, humans just like you. You have absolutely NO reason to talk to us in a rude manner. Not only does it show a total lack of basic education but it's also very demotivating to us and it wastes a lot of our time that we should be using on screening instead. For these reasons from now on :

    - Rude appeal : Automatic Reject

    - Rude email : No reply other than a link to this thread

Note that for the worst cases a ban (permanent or not) will be issued without warnings.

Sorry about this message but enough is enough, we're really tired of it. Also please note that we're only talking about a very little number of persons and that 99% of the people do know how to communicate in a polite and civilized way.

    Have a nice day

    Alex

Thank you for all that you and the crew do. The high standards you have set make us all better at our craft.

This is the saddest part of the story that maximum people dont't understand that screeners are human too and they have personal life as well. They are picking & spending out their important time doing the screening job voluntarily without any benefit.
I would like to mention all those RUDE talkers that, "you are not forced to upload here. If you can't maintain the guideline just quit from here please".

Ban them immediately. We can do without these 1%.

          Alex,

I fully agree that the tone should remain civil and polite and that it should go both ways.

But personally I find it rude that we are not able to see who screens/rejects our uploaded pictures. Just as you screeners are putting alot of work into the site, so do those who upload and personally I have found it very demotivating to have pictures rejected for techicalities which arenīt visible without using tools (we are duing this for a hobby right).
In those 15 years I have uploaded only twice I have received a constuctive feedback and one of them was from you which I am grateful for.

Respect goes both ways and without uploaders and screeners Jetphotos wouldnīt exist.

          Keep up the good work.
          Best regards

          Peter Lund

            Peter,
Respect goes both ways but there's a world of differences between rude, insulting emails and no feedback, it's like comparing apples and grappes. And we do give tons of feedback but as we often realized, about 90% of our messages get totally ignored by our users and that's a fact (unfortunately)
And yes I fail to see why we should give our names in screening decisions, we're a team and it should never become personnel - And trust me, if you would see how agressive and the threats we receive by some users, well, it doesn't make you want to leave your personal details anywhere...

            Cheers
            Alex

              Hi Alex,
              Thank you for replying.
My comparision was a little off.

Since you and the team receive threats and aggression I fully understand why the upload results email are not signed.

Again, keep up the good work.
              Best regards

                Thanks Peter,

About the feedbacks, I also think it's about time. I don't think that people realize how much time is involved in our crew duty and even if I would love seing the crew give more feedbacks, I'm afraid that for now our task number 1 is to really hit the queue and reduce it to a more acceptable level. If we could level it at let's say 6000/7000 then we could think about improving the numbers of feedbacks given

                Cheers

                  .

Unfortunately not possible given the way some people act and react online. The hatred is then made personal and it could spill out into the open. How would you feel if you were standing at an airport, minding your own business, when someone marches over to you and starts throwing insults at you because you rejected their photo. The number of times I've been stood out spotting and people don't know I'm a screener and I hear all sorts of nasty things said about the crew. I would hate that to be made personal and to feel hated out in the community.

When i was a screener I was once given a death threat from a Brazilian spotter. I ignored it and laughed it off as the ranting of a dribbling idiot ............ until a Brazilian spotter who I regard as a friend and who I have a great respect for wrote to me urging me not to visit Brazil as the individual who threatened me was apparently quite capable and likely to follow through on his threat. I reported the incident to the Brazilian police but got no satisfactory response from them. Luckily Brazil is not a country that I have any wish to visit following another friend of mine who works for the Williams F1 team being held up at gunpoint during the Brazilian Grand Prix week some years ago.

Alex and the rest of the JP team have my full support.
If it 'ain't broken........ Don't try to mend it !

This is deeply sad to read. Before I entered JP, I was member of another website. The screening team over there was by far not as friendly as you all are. Of course I've written appeals in the beginning, when I was saddened to get a photo rejected and I was too disappointed to think normally. But even at that time, I have never thrown any insults or threats to the team. As I think right now about that time I have been very stupid about those appeals. Now I'm still learning to understand the entire website better, and thinking where I am right now as aviation photographer, I also have to thank the entire team for advising and guiding me with issues, I've dealt with in the past and even still nowadays with editing. So for all of you, JP-team, keep up the good work and do the right things when necessary.

                      Best Regards

                      Wilko

It is very sad that you have to write such a post, my experience with jetphotos has been very positive and I can't thank enough those who have screened my photos and helped me along the way. Rejection emails often have a screeners comment helping me to see what my error was and forum posts help guide me in making my photos better. I hope that all screeners and admin do know that there is an awful lot of people out there who are extremely grateful to them for volunteering to help others enjoy their hobby.

I think it would be nice to know for the photographers on here how much time screeners spend on an individual photo, and how long each day they spend on it. I would love for the queue to even get down to a week, so 8000-9000 shots.

                            James and Brian,

With those reason and what Alex wrote earlier I fullly understand now why the results are not signed.
I didnīt think it was that bad and that kind of behaviour is unacceptable.

You guys are doing a great job (when you are not rejecting my pictures )
                            Best regards
