    Hello everyone,

I was wondering whether I should take photos with UV filters on my lens or off (I use a Sigma 70-300mm lens). I would like to know whether or not the filter makes a difference in photo quality. Any help is appreciated.

    Regards,

If you have a high quality filter, it won't make much difference. Most newer lenses also have coatings that negate the need to filter UV light (not that it's really necessary for digital sensors anyway), so the main reason to keep such a filter would be to protect the front element of your lens from scratches/smudges.
