  • Canon EOS 300D my options

    hi all
just wondering if someone can give me an idea of what i can do when i take the camera back to canon.

do i ask for a new one, let them repair it and give me the loan D60, get my $ back or what? i am taking it back today so any help asap will be grand!

i am thinking of saying, you keep this thing thats well stuffed and give me a wideangle lens and the loan D60 to keep.

    Rrrrriiiiiggggghhhttt!

I am fairly certain they will dictate the next course of action...

You bought a 300d, not a 1Ds. Put it in perspective....

Well what was there answer??? Did you get your money back? If you want to buy another camera I can only say that the Nikon D100 works!

customer is always right! ever heard of that saying?

i will dictate to them what happens, not them to me.

its not an uncommon problem with 10D and 300D

still not open yet, another 40 min

What about this one: "seven day return policy.." or... "no money back"..

If you haven't already taken it back - error99 is usually indicative of a card problem. Reformating in a card reader on a PC or unather camera usually does the trick.

              Cheers,

              Colin

Yeah, that did sound pretty dumb Jeff.

My Olympus has been doing some hilarious things as of late. On both of my SM cards, there are always 3-4 photos that are sliced in half by a green block. Usually only half of the photo is visible, the other half a mass of green. Now, its fine when its an exposure-check shot of a plane far away, but sometimes I'll get smaked by it on a great shot...

The funny thing is, on the LCD it looks fine, just when I read it onto the PC with my card reader, I get crap.

I'll show you what it looks like later.

battery was fully charged about 2hrs before i went out and used it.

i didnt insert the battery til i wanted to shoot, got off 28 shots then she clammed up like a nun.

I know the battery question was silly, but guess what? If you call their tech support line.... What do you think one of the first questions out of their mouth will be? It never hurts to cover the basics and get them out of the way before expending brain cells on more difficult things..

I have seen the green stuff on my Olympus only once. I can't remember what I found out about it though. have you checked their web site?

I wasn't smiling when that happened to two "would have been stellar" St. Barts shots

Jeff, I've emailed Olympus and they tell me its a card problem, and both my card manufacturers say its a write problem...
