Lens Compatibility

At the risk of being flamed for my lack of photography knowledge..

Anyone know if the Sigma 70-300mm lens I use with my film camera (Minolta Maxxum QTSI SLR) would be compatible with the new Canon Digital Rebel?

Cause if it is and I could find the body of the camera for a decent price, I might be in business

No, it is not. It would have to have the Canon mount. Yours has a Minolta mount. They are different.
