The term "cold start" refers to starting the engines from scratch. It is done with the presence of an observer who stands in front of the plane, as seen in the video, and who checks that the entire process is carried out correctly.Originally posted by bstolle View PostComment

Never heard or read that. FYI you don't start the engines from 'scratch' (whatever this means). You always follow the same checklist during engine start.
If there's no pushback there's always an observer in front of the aircraft, but not to check if the entire process is correct (which is impossible from the outside) but if there's fan rotation, a tailpipe fire or a leak.Comment

I've heard that starting a passenger aircraft, etc. from a state where all the power is off is called a "cold start."Comment

You most likely mean cold state or cold & dark state, but this has nothing to do with engine start.
Furthermore the start up sequence looks a lot more like a normal turn around.Comment
