  • Aviation YouTube Livestream

    Hi everyone,

I have an Aviation YouTube channel (ThePlaneGuy2000 plz subscribe) and would like to Livestream. I would like to know what the best videography camera (preferably £100-£200) there is?

Any advice would be appreciated 👍

That's a really tight budget in general whether it's photography, videography, or live streaming. There's a lot of factors you need to consider. Do you only care about the video aspect and not so much photos? If so, I know camcorders are somewhat popular amongst aviation live streamers (BigjetTV for example). Ideally you'll want something within the last 5-8 years for best quality, and you can probably find a camcorder second hand that will fit your budget and needs. There's a little more to it than the camera and I'm not sure if you've considered it. You'll need all the following: an HDMI cable compatible with your camera (typically some variation of micro-usb to HDMI), you'll need a capture card (this transfers the live feed from the camera to the device you're streaming from), you'll need some sort of computer in order to run the live stream and receive the cameras feed (laptop with Windows/Mac is optimal, anything in the last 10 years should have no problem being able to run a livestream), a battery pack (leaving your camera on nonstop will drain battery fast, switching batteries isn't optimal), and lastly you'll need a good internet connection (a phone hotspot usually isn't enough, nor is using a nearby facilities wifi. Optimally you'll need an actual dedicated hotspot device to provide internet but you can run some test streams to experiment with the quality).

Let's say you find a camera at the top of your budget and its £200. You'll need to spend around £50-100 more than that to get the other equipment you need. As far as camera recommendations, I'd aim towards cheaper camcorders given what your needs and budget are. Look into Sony, Canon, and Panasonic - all are reputable camcorder brands, and again, something secondhand will fit your budget needs much better.
