While the camera you got might not be what you were expecting, its not a total loss. There are a number of users on the site that only use 2mp cameras, myself including. I think it is the lack of settings on the camera that will hurt you more than the size of the picture. You can still take good pictures with a 2mp camera, just figure out what you can and can't do with it and accept your limitations. For example I know that my camera really does not do well at night, so I dont take pictures at night unless its fairly bright, and I have a tripod. I definately reccomend trying to get a better camera, but in the meantime practice practice practice. You can still work on things such as framing your pictures correctly with a 2mp camera. While the results might not be upload worthy because of quality issues, does not mean that this camera was a waste. One thing I think you can work on from the photos that I have seen is trying to get closer to the action. This will be quite difficult at most airports, which is why having a decent amount of zoom is helpful. Good luck.

You've already wasted your money with that Kodak. If you want to waste more get that Toshiba. I would go to www.dpreview.com and www.fredmiranda.com (post on the forums) and visit some camera shops and do some research about digital cameras and figure out what you need in a camera and don't just go for the lowest price or you'll find it proally wont be that good for aviation and you would have just wasted your money. And whatever camera you get make sure it's AT LEAST 3mp however the more mp the better. Minolta has the Dimage A2 coming out soon which looking at some of the specs it seems like it would be nice if you want a point n' shoot but i don't know the price and it hasn't come out yet so there are no reviews. But it has a 7.1x zoom, 8 mp and can shoot RAW mode.

Aright i exagerrated it wasnt 60 but 100, you think i can sell it on ebay, add some money and buy a better one? Which one should i buy under 150 dollars? A toshiba 4 MP 6x zoom seems fine to me about 140

First off, don't shoot through glass.

Second, try getting the whole aircraft in the frame, instead of just half of it.

Third, a $60 2 MP camera is not going to get you too far.

Initally I thought I would be able to use the camera and take good pictures to submit to JP, and A.net, however when I take pictures they come out in poor quality, here are a few examples of pics i took at jfk
