    Hello everyone,

I kindly ask for editing advice on a picture I recently got rejected for unlevel Horizon (see below).
According to upload guidelines I leveled the horizon using vertical reference points, e.g. the tower in the back, the building right of the cockpit and the fence posts in the foreground. From those reference points the picture looks very level to me, so I wonder what caused the rejection and whether it's worth appealing.

    Thanks for your help.
    Best,
    marfi80

      Hello everyone,

any kind advise on the request above from two days ago?
I don't want to push it, I just think the post might have been missed.

Horizon looks acceptable to me, though that doesn't mean everyone else would agree, so it's your decision whether to appeal.

          Hello everyone,

one of my pictures was rejected for being dark/underexposed (https://www.jetphotos.com/viewqueued_b.php?id=7957485)

I did some rework on the picture and kindly ask for a pre-screening whether it would be acceptable now.
Thank you very much for all your efforts.

          Best,
          marfi80

                1-2 contrast, borderline soft/overprocessed (banding/halos in sky)
                3. soft, borderline contrast
                4. contrast

                  Hello everyone,

could I please get a pre-screening on the three pictures below?

                  FYI:
#1 was initially rejected overprocessed, now re-edited
#2 has the sun directly from the front, so I'm worried about dark/contrast or even backlit
#3 was rejected in a different frame for overprocessed + heat distortion. This is a different frame with different editing.

Thank you very much and best,
                  marfi80

                    1. overprocessed, borderline (weak) contrast
                    2. dark, soft, noise, borderline centering (too low)
                    3. borderline heat haze/contrast

                      Thank you very much, dlowwa.

                      Very much appreciated.
Then I might give #3 a try and keep the others for my personal records.

Yes, contrast would be an issue, as well as softness.

                            Hello everyone,

one question about a rejection I received due to JPG compression artefacts: Where exactly in the picture is compression an issue?

Just wondering how to fix it, because it was a raw picture, I used my usual routine and scaled down to 1280 pretty carefully in multiple steps.
Thanks for any help and a nice weekend to everyone.

                            Best,

Sky is quite noisy/compressed - notice the blockiness/patchiness visible there.

Ah, that's actually a good hint. Was focusing too much on the aircraft but not on the sky. Will work on it.

                                Thank you very much, dlowwa.
