  • I need some help please!

Hey. I am having a lot of trouble with the quality of pics.

The origional pic on flim looks great then when i scan it it still looks very good but when i upload it, its horrible.

I don't know what goes wrong. Here's an example.

    http://www.jetphotos.net/viewreject.php?id=228908

ignore the fact it's unleveled (i was a little lazy ) and try to focus on the grain and blurryness, because the scanned pic is very clear.

    thanks for the help!

    -Chasen

How does an airline thats going bankrupt sign new regional carriers, launch a discount airline, purchase new planes, AND repaint their fleet? I dunno, ask United.

What kind of scanner are you using?

Also what size did you upload at? The site will reduce your image to 1024 by xxx but quality is degraded. it's best to resize yourself.

Also what kind of zoom are you using. Because your house location looks awesome.

Well i use a cannon and HP scanner. I also resized it myself to 1024X800 when i scanned it. Which is why this always seems weird.

Oh and thanks, i have a lot more pics of SFO from my house but i have to figure out this quality thing figured out.

      thanks,

cld u provide us with the model of each scanner?

from the looks of things, they're from a flatbed scanner?

Resize to 1'24x768, not ...x800!! The site resizes your pic to 1002x768 and adds the copyright banner. That could be one of the reasons, why your pics look so grainy.

Thanks for the advise LX-A343! I'll try it and hopefully it'll work.

The Scanners I use are a Canon Canoscan Lide 30 and an HP psc2110v All-in-one printer, scanner, and copier. They are both flatbed scanners.

Thanks everyone and hopefully i can get some more pics up!

              greetings,

Try using Neat Image which you can download from the web. This is a great tool for removing grain but it’s a bit tricky to use at first. I bought it last week and this is one of first efforts with it using an HP5370 scanner. (It was rejected first time around for JPEG compression which, I think was a question of using the wrong settings in Neat Image).

                  Thanx for everything guys

But...uh....well i did it and...see for your self.

                  http://www.jetphotos.net/viewqueued.php?id=234763

                  Ya, I know. "Wow"

I probably did something wrong along the way, but I'm pretty sure i resized it right and everything. I also submitted one with a Frontier A318, the results were no better .

Mabey I need new scanning programs or something. It's starting to seem like I'm a lost cause unless i go out and buy a digital camera or something.

But hopefully someone can tell what I did wrong.

                  Thanks!

If you need a different scanning program try VueScan from Hamrick software.

I use it with my Canon Scanners and it gives good results.
