  • alex1211 - editing advice request please

    Hello,
I received a rejection that I do not understand and I would ask for your advice please: https://cdn.jetphotos.com/full/6/72584_1589218263.jpg

    The reasons were:
    • Over Processed / Bad postprocessing
    • Part of aircraft cut off
If I am honest I do not see any over processed / bad postprocessing failures and I am happy for any advice in that matter please.

I also want to add that of course I see that part of the aircraft is cut off, but there are multiple close up shots at Jetphotos and I would like to know what are the preconditions for such a shot.

I personally like this picture and I will not appeal it or reedit it for Jetphotos.net but out of interest and for future uploads (saving my time and the screeners time) I would like to know the reasons.

    Thanks in advance,

    Alex

You can see the photo is over processed by the equalised version, also the crop could have done without cutting the engine in half, hence the part of aircraft Cut off comment.Try and frame/crop the photo so that the subject looks balanced. There also looks to be a degree of heat haze,

        Hello everyone,

another photo, nearly the same question:

This one got rejected due to Over Processed / Bad postprocessing.

How can you see some halos in that picture? I equalized the picture already and yes, there are some halos visible (especially around the wing). But how can you see them without equalizing?
I guess for a rejection it must make sense to see some failures without the equalized version and I didnīt do a lot of editing before uploading - just minor adjustments.

        Thanks in advance,

        Alex

In the same way you can tell centering is off without using the centering tool or it is over/underexposed without using the histogram. Weak contrast in the shadow areas and darker areas in the sky (halos) close to those same shadow areas are easily noticeable once you've seen that kind of thing often enough. The weak contrast is the big indicator though.

            Hello,

Iīd ask for another advice for this rejection please:

Being honest I donīt understand why such a photo is being rejected. I didnīt do anything with the colours as the sun was out and there was a lot of natural sunlight as you can see.

            Thanks.

Yellow from the sun is fine, but there is an unnatural red cast

Thanks! And the picture that you have uploaded: I suppose you have reduced the red colour in the left half of the picture to see the difference?

                    Hello again,

I would like to ask for another editing advise please.
                    This photo got rejected: https://cdn.jetphotos.com/full/5/91074_1594380316.jpg

                    The reasons were:
                    • Undersharpened (Soft)
                    • Too much or too little contrast
I have two questions in that matter:

                    - Undersharpened refers to the head section of the plane, I guess not fixable
                    - Too much or too little contrast: I guess I have used too much contrast in the picture, so part of the aircraft has too much dark tones, like the tail?

                    Thanks a lot in advance.

Contrast is just a little weak, but the image is much too soft for 1920pix.
