There is no direct light on the aircraft. Editing cannot fix this.

      Okay.
Would this one stand a chance for acceptance?
      Thanks!

Soft, overprocessed, and borderline heat hazed.

Processing and sharpening are better. Still borderline heat hazed, and maybe contrast as well.

Is there a way I can reduce the heat haze at all? I have been trying to find out for a while, looking around the web, but didn't find a whole lot on the subject.

Not with editing. It can only be avoided in the first place.

Is there a lens filter that would reduce it?

                    • Okay.
Is the contrast better on this one?
I am really trying hard to get this one right because it is one of my favorite shots.
                      Thanks.

Probably as good as you're going to be able to get it, but the angle of the sun simply wasn't very conducive to very good lighting, unfortunately.

                        • Do you think it's worth uploading? Or should I not bother.

You can try uploading it at a smaller resolution

Up to you. More than a fair chance it will be rejected, but if that doesn't bother you, go for it.

A lower resolution will have no effect on the biggest issue, which is the contrast.

                              • Okay. All I can do is try I guess.

Can I get pre screening for this one, please?

                                Thanks.
