This is post-sunset, blue hour. Is it generally a bad idea to shoot air shots after sunset? Clearly a "night shot", does night shot change some of the guidelines with contrast and such?

    Thanks!

No change to the guidelines; light is quite poor in this image, likely to be rejected for dark/contrast/soft.

      Pre-screen question/advice:

      1) Bottom edge of fuselage has some reflection from underneath and other side of plane. Checking to make sure that wouldn't be counted as blurry/soft? Any other issues?

      Thanks!

Not blurry, and only minor softness towards nose. Wouldn't be an issue for me.

Sharpening issues related to heat haze likely to be your biggest issue.

                Thanks. Scrap it?

Up to you. If you wanted a totally arbitrary guess, maybe 25% chance of being accepted. Possibly it could be, but not likely.

                    2)contrast due to sky blown-out?

                    3) contrast (hard to get a good contrast histogram with the tarmac filling much of the pic), soft

                      1) vignette, contrast
                      Overprocessed, borderline soft.

                      Yes, contrast. Not fixable.

Pre-screen advice needed. Listed are potential rejection reasons I am concerned about, to differing degrees:

                        1) Backlit - concerned that even though the airport is under cloud cover, miles in the distance the sun is peeking through.

                        2) Underexposed

Thoughts? Other areas of concern? Advice on how to correct if needed? Thanks!

Yes, would be rejected for dark/contrast. Also soft, but that's a moot point since the lighting issue is not fixable.

Pre-screen advice needed. This aircraft is a static display with a classroom for kids inside. Listed are potential rejection reasons I am concerned about, to differing degrees:

                            1) Obstruction - air stairs at front of plane. These do not move as it is a classroom and part of the display, with that being the case, would that be an acceptable exception?

                            2) Centering - wing tip to horizontal stabilizer (horizontal), and tire to horizontal stabilizer (vertical).

                            3) Horizon - I used the vertical edge of building under the #1 engine.

Thanks for your help and time!!

Horizon looks ok; I'd put it a bit higher in the frame; if the stairs don't move then should be ok, just leave a note for the screeners stating as much when uploading.
