Can you please explain this rejection? Is it because of a slight purple tinge? I'm a little confused to this one. The original shot had a purple sky but was rejected, so I had manually corrected the white balance here to be "normal"

A bit awkward, but your only other options would be to include the wings completely, or to crop tighter on the left. Don't cut the tail.

What would be the best way to work on these pics (dusk)? I'm finding stretching the histogram makes it overly bright. Would I just judge it by eye rather than follow the histogram?

I don't think exposure is an issue with that image, it seems bright enough. The light halos would be the problem.
