First is hazed/blurry, second is not and would be acceptable for me.

      • Can I get a pre-screen on this? I don't know if the white balance looks right

          Very borderline for contrast/soft.

Might need a little CCW rotation, but otherwise ok for me.

              • JetPhotos.com is the biggest database of aviation photographs with over 5 million screened photos online!

For these rejections, how is it easiest to judge what's dark and what isn't? With head-on light, there isn't a lot of light on the side of the fuselage so any advice would be helpful.

Histogram can help, but not always, as even if the whole frame is well balanced, if the aircraft is mostly dark (as it is here) you can still run into issues.

                  • Which category did I mistake this time? https://www.jetphotos.com/viewqueued_b.php?id=9978552

I thought I'd left all boxes blank, and this photo hasn't been changed since the last time I tried to upload it

                          1. contrast. not fixable.
                          2. dark/contrast, soft. for active/flying aircraft very little chance we would accept it without a reg, so you'd need to make your best effort to find it.

Been rejected for overprocessed 3 times (maybe because of noise reduction), no idea how to work it from here

                              1. noise, soft
                              2. contrast, overprocessed
                              3. contrast
                              4. contrast, too far, overprocessed, compression
