  • Pre-screening and post rejection advices

Hi guys! Hope you're fine! I have a little question about a photo of mine that got rejected.

This one was rejected for JPEG Compression artefacts and Undersharpened.

I totally agree with the fact that is undersharpened and I guess that's fixable.

But I don't find out the JPEG Compression Artefacts because I don't fully understand the concept of this reason for rejection yet, so I wanted to know what can I do to fix this or if is this fixable? And, if that's the case, how can I tell if there's JPEG in my next edition of this photo?

I have to clarify that I saved this picture with the maximum quality and my camera is not DSLR, is just a Canon SX60.

The only stuff that seems a bit strange for me is the blue tone that the "check for dust" function allows to see in the photo. Sorry but as I said I don't fully understand the concept of "JPEG Compression Artefacts" yet hehe.

Hope somebody can help me. Greetings from Ecuador!!

This is likely the factor. Cameras such as that have a much smaller sensor, and leads to smearing of the detail at the pixel level, which can sometimes be identified as compression. There is not much you can do to fix it, only try to hide it by uploading at the lowest resolution possible.
