Is there any way to reduce heat haze, or just not got when it’s hot.

Heat haze is unrelated to the overall temperature. It is caused by differences in temperature between air layers, and can be experienced in any season, though in summer it more common as the ground heats up faster (thus causing a difference in temperature with the air above it) than in the winter. If it is there, you cannot avoid it.
