  • jdppettit - Rejection/editing advice

    Hey folks!

Hoping I could get some advice regarding rejections around "Over Processed / Bad postprocessing". I seem to get this quite often and I am having trouble identifying specifically what is up, at this point the rejections still feel random.

Here is one I had rejected today for bad postprocessing: https://www.jetphotos.com/viewqueued_b.php?id=9792600

Another one that is confusing: https://www.jetphotos.com/viewqueued_b.php?id=9792614

I am particularly confused because the 777 above looks quite similar color/contrast-wise to a photo that was accepted: https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/10406124

Thanks for any help / advice you folks can provide!

If you look at the equalized rendition (check for dust) you can see halos around the undercarriage on the KLM photo. Setting highlight and shadow adjustment to 0 should get rid of this.

Editing halos are visible, though more so on the first than the second.

Reposting in this thread. I was not aware that one could only make a single thread on this particular forum, apologies.

        Hey folks,

Just looking for some prescreening feedback - I have previously had rejections based on bad processing so I have been trying to leave things closer to as they came from the camera. Any chance I could get some feedback on the postprocessing specifically? I believe these photos _should_ be sharp, level, etc.

        Thank you!

Thanks for the feedback! A couple of follow up questions for you:

                1. For "borderline" - is the recommended course of action further tweaking?
                2. For the two comments around contrast, are you suggesting more or less contrast?
                3. Are you of the opinion any of these are beyond fixing?

                Thanks for the continued feedback.

EDIT: Figured I'd try updating the few you recommended changes on to maximize your time when you see this reply

These would be acceptable for me, but I couldn't promise the same for everyone.

Hey folks! One of the above photos came back as rejected (https://www.jetphotos.com/viewreject_b.php?id=9891492) any tips on how to proceed here? I'm not sure I understand the the postprocessing related feedback, did I bump in too much contrast?

I suppose it was a touch dark, but the other things were non-issues. I've added it to the DB.

                              1 & 3 still borderline dark/contrast.
